Howard Banker, Executive Director
Howard Banker has spent over 30 years in the lending business, working with and for non-profit and for-profit lending organizations. He has served in senior managerial roles overseeing all phases of loan counseling, loan origination, loan purchase and securitization programs. He has mixed and merged traditional mortgage loan products with public funds to create usable products for consumers. The firms he has worked with or for include Bank of NY Mortgage Company, Neighborhood Housing Services of America, Low Income Investment Fund, Ford Foundation, Parodneck Foundation and others. Howard Banker also serves as the Managing Director of Energy Programs Consortium, a nonprofit research and implementation organization working for states and with the federal government around scalable energy efficiency finance programs. Mr. Banker has an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a BA in Medieval Studies from Fordham University.
Robin LeBaron, Deputy Director
Robin LeBaron has worked for over a decade in the community development and non-profit lending fields. Prior to joining FMC, Mr. LeBaron served as executive director of Hope Community, Inc., a non-profit housing development organization based in East Harlem, New York, where, among many other successful projects, he oversaw the first refinancing of a “Year 15” tax credit project to use a new city loan program, and the planning and initial development of a $27 million new construction project creating 69 units of affordable, environmentally friendly housing. He has served on the JP Morgan Chase Community Advisory Board and the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development board of directors, and has presented papers at many venues such as the American Anthropological Association and the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH). Mr. LeBaron holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the New School for Social Research and a B.A. in Political Science and Anthropology from McGill University.
Bonnie Bruzdziak, Executive Assistant
Bonnie Bruzdziak holds a degree in Art History magna cum laude from Florida State University and a degree in Legal Assisting from Hillsborough Community College. She has over 15 years of administrative experience in law, higher education and medicine. As someone who once had a predatory loan, Bonnie is dedicated to the mission of the Fair Mortgage Collaborative to ensure that loan products are fair and safe.
